Taiwan University is an institution of higher education in Taiwan. During the Japanese occupation period, it was known as"Taipei Imperial University". It has cultivated many famous scholars and entrepreneurs in Taiwan. Among the disciplines, medicine, law, and electrical engineering disciplines are especially famous. The famous scholars Fu Sinian,Bai Xianyong and Yu Guangzhong used to hold a post here. The architectural style of the campus is the same as that of the presidential palace. It is a red-brick facade building. The school gate built in 1931 has been designated as a city ancient monument by the Taipei City Government Civil Affairs Bureau.
