Introduction

Ciyou Temple is a traditional folk temple located in Taipei’s Songshan District and dedicated to the goddess Mazu. First completed in 1757, the temple’s roof is richly ornamented with figurines of humans and flying dragons. Local residents frequent the temple to pay respects and give offerings. On major holidays, crowds of worshippers can grow immensely. For those interested in traditional Taiwanese culture and architecture, a stop a Ciyou Temple is certainly worth it.
